Basics

An affordable,  complete order processing and inventory control system for cabinet, furniture,  fixture and millwork manufacturing. Basics reduces the need to create bills of material so  your system can be up and running in days rather than months!  For a limited time Basics is free to small companies - Follow this link for details.

ü      A central database of Windows networked business information  to support customer service (quotations through shipping), marketing, and material management  functions (purchasing, inventory control, etc.).  It provides day-to-day documentation and control plus the necessary reports to guide management.

ü       Modular system that is always the right-size for your company. When you are ready you can add other SIM*plicity functions such as production planning.

ü      Not just for woodwork companies!  Basics is being used to manufacture upholstered furniture as well as plastic and metal products. And, it has successfully mixed all these materials and processes in the same factory.

ü      Supports “Mixed-Mode Manufacturing. Every item is a production order no matter how customized. By Order Entry handling almost all customization and pricing it eliminates the days of delay while an order is detoured through engineering.

ü      Provides open doorways to standard accounting and product engineering programs.  Basics exports accounts payable and receivable data to stand alone or networked accounting programs.   Plan and Perform module reads and prices cut-lists and can output them to optimizing programs.

ü      All standard items are automatically priced including adjustments for options and features. Pricing reflects item and order discounts established for each customer.

ü      The costs of custom products costs are rapidly estimated by Plan and Perform. It avoids “surprises” by using the actual costs that you are paying for material, labor and departmental overhead. Accuracy of your estimates can be compared and validated against production reporting of labor and material.

ü      Security ensured by individual user passwords tied to right-to-know access. Although all data can be exported by Basics it cannot be “browsed” from other programs. Additional security is  provided by full audit trails of inventory transactions and  customer order changes.

Glossary

Bills of Materials  are the core of true manufacturing systems. They link together customer orders, manufacturing instructions with  material and labor requirements.

Dynamic (parametric) Bills of Material are used for entire families of products eliminating the need at most companies for 90% of individual Bills of Material. However, Static (Conventional) Bills of Material are still valuable and our system incorporates them with a full range of Options and Features
