COST FACTORS

Cost factors are used for Product Costing (cost rollups) and for Cost of Goods (actual cost of specific orders) reports.  The hourly rates used in these reports are controlled by three files located in your "user folder"  All three files have the suffix ".USR" and  are text files that can be opened with Notepad.

Note: These files contain additional variables that are used in special  versions of SIM*plicity.  Only edit the lines discussed below.

COSTFACA.USR.

Edit only the G & A factors which are multipliers of material and labor variable cost. The first column values are the standard cost multipliers and the second column updated cost multipliers

CMJOBA.USR

The first section of this report is used to identify non-production time for the purpose of labor reporting . The first numerical column is for standard cost, the second for updated.

The hourly rates are assigned to each operation's unit  value as defined in the labor key (normally class #11).

DPTCOSTA.USR

The variable and fixed overhead hourly costs  are calculated by multiplying the values in this file by the total labor time  (operation plus set-up time). The unit values reference the unit values in the department key.
