SIM*plicity Overview

A complete manufacturing business system that builds profits by providing accurate cost, customer service, parametric product engineering and shop floor information.

ü A central database of Windows networked business information to support customer service (quotation through shipping), marketing, product engineering,, and material management functions (purchasing, inventory control, etc.). It provides day-to-day documentation and control plus the reports needed to guide management.

ü SIM*plicity is used to manufacture metal, wood, plastic, and upholstered products. And, it has successfully mixed these materials and processes in the same factory.

ü Enables efficient “Mixed-Mode Manufacturing”. Every item is a production order no matter how customized. Order Entry does almost all the customization and pricing. This can eliminate days of delay while an order is detoured through engineering. "Buy-out" items are automatically costed and purchased with the selected "options and features" .

ü Provides open doorways to exchange data with SQL databases, standard accounting and product engineering (AutoCAD, etc.) programs.

ü Complete MRP2+ functionality. SIM*plicity schedules every work cell in your factory. It provides clear information to every operator : What to do (process); Where (machine); When (schedule); and How (process information).

ü All products are automatically priced including adjustments for options, features and size modifications. Upcharges reflect product size (area, height, perimeter, etc.) and/or quantity of features (number of doors, buttons, etc.). Pricing also reflects buying programs as well as item and order discounts established for each customer.

ü Bottom Line Project Management! Displays your actual costs automatically as you prepare a project or product quotation, comparing it to your pricing for profitability analysis. After shipment a "Cost of Goods Sold" analysis benchmarks your actual performance. Custom products costs are rapidly estimated by Plan and Perform. It avoids “surprises” by using the actual costs that you are paying for material, labor and departmental overhead. Accuracy of your estimates can be compared and validated against production reporting of labor and material.

ü Security ensured by individual user passwords tied to right-to-know access. Although all data can be exported or imported automatically into SIM*plicity it cannot be “browsed” from other programs. Additional security is provided by full audit trails of inventory transactions and customer order changes.
