Customer Service -- ORDER ENTRY TOOLS
SIM*plicity Order Entry is customized to meet each client's need. Some basics:
|
Customer info Acknowledgments (Click Images for detail) |
Lists customer's invoice address and default
shipping address (including all branch locations). Complete order
history is immediately available including complete details of all items
on prior orders. (SIM*plicity has no history limits!) Multiple
sales reps and their commission split can be chosen for each order and
freeform text as well as standard messages can be included.
The status of all a customer's current orders are displayed along with any "alert messages" (credit hold, etc.) New Customer information can be added "on the fly" during Order Entry by right clicking on the "customer #" box. |
|
(Click Image for detail) Item Details Product Database |
Complete standard pricing information including finish and fabric grade charges, and upcharges for all standard options. It also lists related products (arm covers for chairs, lazy-susans for corner cabinets, etc.). Details on optional sales programs (i.e., private label or promotions) are listed if customer qualifies. Catalog product pictures can be displayed. |
| Themed and Mixed Mode Manufacturing | Production and custom products can be included on same order. Order entry clerk can switch to "themed" order entry mode within an order. This is the normal mode for architectural woodworkers, kitchen cabinet companies and store fixture manufacturers where every item on an order (project) will have the same species, hardware, etc. SIM*plicity remembers project themes for future orders. |
| Price customized products as well as options and features on standard products | Moving product pricing to order entry from engineering reduces the time to process and acknowledge a customer's order from days to minutes. SIM*plicity's configurator and look up tables can properly price changes in size and/or substrate (requiring extra material and/or labor), edge treatments and special machining (inlays, corner cuts, etc.). Fabrics can be priced by grade and by the need for extra material for matching. |
| Offer and review all options for product selected | SIM*plicity displays all available choices for each option and advises which are in-stock. It also selects default "nested" options based on basic option choices (i.e., solid color trim fabric to match patterned upholstery). |
| Create Bills of Material | Bills of material and all other shop floor documents are automatically generated at Order Entry with all options and features selected and with any required customization. |
| Calculate weight and select carriers | Based on options and customization, the exact product weight is calculated and the lowest cost freight carrier for the destination zipcode is selected. SIM*plicity prints the bill of lading and barcoded product labels. |
| Compute local taxes | Sales tax is automatically calculated for the order's destination zipcode. |
| Delivery dates | The order entry clerk can instantly display the daily workload for any future date and the availability of the materials necessary to build the order. |
| Enter data only once! | Quotations can be sent by fax and quotes can easily be converted to orders with just a few keystrokes. Order approval generates all of the shop floor documents and these can be easily changed if items are cancelled or delivery dates are changed. Invoices are printed when shipping is confirmed (back orders are created automatically) and all details are automatically transferred to your accounting program. |

| Product Engineering | Bill of Material Flow Chart | Bills of Materials are the core of true manufacturing systems. They link together customer orders, manufacturing instructions with material and labor requirements. Dynamic (parametric) Bills of Material are used for entire families of products eliminating the need at most companies for 90% of individual Bills of Material. However, Static (Conventional) Bills of Material are still valuable and our system incorporates them with a full range of Options and Features |
